Department of Botany
The Botany Department at the college offers three-year degree programs in B.Sc. (Hons.) as well as subsidiary/General studies.
Objectives:
– To sustain and deliver formal and informal education about plants.
– To foster understanding of plant science through practical experience and expert instruction.
– To encourage interactive teaching-learning approaches by designing a curriculum centered around student needs.
Department of Biotechnology
We provide undergraduate programs in Biotechnology covering topics such as genetic engineering, plant tissue culture, animal cell culture, and stem cell research.
To enhance student learning, we employ contemporary teaching methods and utilize advanced instruments, including PowerPoint presentations, slide shows, seminars, workshops, and educational trips.
Department of Chemistry
The Chemistry Department at Bokaro Steel City College, Bokaro, was established in 1981 and began its operations within the college premises.
The B.Sc. (Core/General) program under the CBCS (Choice Based Credit System) commenced in the academic year 2015-2016.
We boast a fully equipped laboratory equipped with the necessary instruments to facilitate practical classes for B.Sc. degree students.
Department of Environmental Science
The B.Sc. (Hons.) Environmental Science is a three-year vocational degree program structured on a semester system under the C.B.C.S., following university guidelines.
The primary objective is to deliver quality education through effective teaching methods.
The aim is to equip students with a comprehensive understanding of fundamental environmental challenges.
Department of Mathematics
To present Mathematics to society as a manifestation of human intellect, showcasing active will, contemplative reasoning, and fostering a pursuit of aesthetic excellence.

Department of Physics
The physics department provides a graduate program aligned with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. It boasts a well-equipped laboratory to enhance learning, promoting hands-on experience of physics through experiments. Graduates from the department have secured positions in a range of government and private organizations across different job levels.
Department of Zoology
Zoology involves the study of animals, offering students a thorough understanding of various aspects of animal function, including anatomy, physiology, development, behavior, genetics, evolution, and taxonomy of both extant and extinct species. Students explore how animals interact with their ecosystem in depth.
The department is equipped with a well-stocked laboratory containing a diverse array of specimens, models, and charts, complemented by a departmental library to further enrich students’ knowledge.
